My Business Finance is a National level 1 B-BBEE rated company specialising in extending bridging finance to contracted service providers in the small to medium enterprise market, which has evolved from an NGO, IBEC founded in 1991.

This venture was born from the identification of challenges experienced by contractors and service providers for bridging finance in the execution and implementation of contracts awarded. The contractors have the skills for implementation but frequently fail due to a lack of access to finance required during implementation. The projects are short term in nature therefore the requirement for bridging finance. The programme has facilitated over R150 Million in bridging finance to contractors in the Eastern Cape over the past five years.

Access to bridging finance, is one of the main challenges faced by SMEs. Banks and development financial institutions (DFIs) continue to decline most of the applications. Very often resulting in projects not commencing timeously and in the construction industry this can be detrimental to the completion of much needed projects in social services such as hospitals, clinics and schools.
